Job description
Role Overview
The Manager is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to the Investment, Planning and Partnerships team. This role focuses on enhancing outcomes and ensuring value for money in procurement activities that serve vulnerable individuals, families, and culturally diverse communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee contract management teams within a human services procurement setting, ensuring compliance with corporate governance, financial controls, human resource management, and promoting cultural capability while fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
- Guide team involvement in procurement planning, including market analysis, risk evaluation, and co-design of service investments.
- Direct regional procurement initiatives, collaborating with business units on supplier evaluation and selection.
- Manage supplier performance to ensure effective investment use and value for money through rigorous contract oversight, performance monitoring, and addressing underperformance proactively.
- Implement risk management protocols to guarantee supplier compliance and resolve contractual issues effectively.
- Maintain constructive communication and relationships with suppliers via structured contract management systems.
- Ensure robust record keeping and data management practices are in place.
- Provide expert strategic and operational advice on investment and contract management matters to senior leadership.
- Establish and nurture key relationships internally and externally embracing cultural diversity to optimize procurement outcomes.
- Represent the unit professionally in forums involving regional leadership and external stakeholders.
