Job description
About the Role
A Private Equity-backed fintech firm is undergoing a comprehensive transformation that extends beyond technology platforms to a new way of integrating technology and operational delivery across five defined value streams: Deal Onboarding & Activation, Facility Lifecycle Administration, Covenant & Compliance Management, Amendment & Consent Management, and Client Service & Relationship Management. This transformation demands strong leadership from the business side to balance the engineering focus and foster active business ownership.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and develop detailed Value Stream Work Packages.
- Implement Agile methodologies and promote outcome-focused working approaches.
- Evaluate and bridge gaps in Business Analyst and Product Owner capabilities.
- Participate in architecture and capability assessments.
- Provide education and coaching on product ownership principles to business teams.
- Establish and operationalize the Product Operating Model.
- Design and prioritize the AI and Digital Readiness Backlog.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven experience in management consulting within financial services with comprehensive knowledge of regulatory environments, including data governance, audit trails, and multi-regulator compliance.
- Senior-level experience as a Product Consultant, Product Manager, or Head of Product in a technology-driven organization.
- Expertise in value stream and capability-based delivery with experience in business architecture, capability decomposition, and linking technology initiatives to business outcomes.
- Hands-on leadership of value stream or capability-based delivery efforts rather than just managing feature backlogs.
- Strong coaching skills with a proven record of building product management capabilities in organizations without prior such frameworks.
- Experience leading Agile delivery in complex environments with external engineering partners and understanding practical Scrum application in third-party contexts.
- Ability to confidently engage with and influence senior executives including COO, CTO, and CEO, demonstrating genuine authority and decision-making influence.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of loan and lending products.
- Experience with platform or fintech products transitioning from operational tools to scalable, API-first commercial products, preferably in a PE-backed high-growth context.
- Hands-on experience managing AI-powered product features involving large language models, machine learning, or agent-based workflows integrated into business processes.
- Familiarity with a private equity environment, comfortable with its fast pace, accountability demands, and strict value-creation timeline.
Additional Information
Immediate availability and valid UK work authorization are mandatory for this position.
