Role Overview
We are looking to hire a Maintenance Worker for a full-time position at the Weerona Aged Care Centre. This permanent role involves maintaining both the interior and exterior facilities of the site, ensuring safety, preventative upkeep, and addressing breakdowns in coordination with leadership staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing routine repairs on buildings, equipment, and assets that do not require specialized trade skills.
- Conducting physical inspections of property, equipment, and assets to verify safety and compliance.
- Assisting the line manager by monitoring contractor performance related to property and asset services for quality and efficiency.
- Complying with essential safety requirements, including fire safety, electrical regulations, and other legislative obligations.
- Completing both corrective and preventative maintenance tasks timely and as scheduled.
- Maintaining a safe, secure, and visually pleasant environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
- Exemplifying the values and mission of The Salvation Army Aged Care through role modeling.
Qualifications and Knowledge
- Familiarity with the aged care sector, particularly the implementation of the Aged Care Quality & Safety Standards, focusing on Standard 4.
- Understanding of building compliance requirements and certification processes.
- Proven capabilities in building and grounds upkeep, workplace health and safety, hazard and risk management.
- Experience managing contractors and strong time management skills.
- Competence in selecting and using electrical power and hand tools effectively and safely.
Additional Requirements
- Successful completion of a National Criminal History Check is mandatory.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Work hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly pay ranges from $29.74 to $31.00, adjusted based on experience and qualifications, plus 12% superannuation. Additional financial perks include:
