About the Role
We invite experienced Maintenance Supervisors who excel in remote FIFO (Fly-In-Fly-Out) environments to join Sodexo’s Weipa team. As a global leader in integrated facilities management, Sodexo ensures safe, efficient, and sustainable workplaces in some of Australia's most remote regions. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily maintenance activities, managing a skilled maintenance workforce, and ensuring all facilities and equipment meet high standards of safety and functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily maintenance operations ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications.
- Plan, schedule, and prioritize both preventative and corrective maintenance tasks to minimize equipment downtime.
- Mentor and develop maintenance personnel to enhance team performance.
- Perform equipment inspections and troubleshoot issues proactively to prevent operational disruptions.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and ensure compliance documentation is up-to-date.
- Promote and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental policies across all maintenance operations.
- Oversee maintenance budgets and optimize resource allocation effectively.
- Manage contractors and specialist service providers involved in maintenance tasks.
- Monitor maintenance performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement.
- Cultivate strong working relationships with operational stakeholders to align maintenance objectives with broader business goals.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a trade qualification in Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, or Carpentry.
- At least 5 years of experience supervising maintenance teams in industrial, mining, or facilities management environments.
- Previous exposure to FIFO or remote workplace settings is essential.
- In-depth understanding of building maintenance systems, mechanical, and electrical maintenance procedures.
- Proficient in planning and scheduling preventative maintenance programs.
- Experienced with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Strong leadership skills paired with excellent communication and people management abilities.
- Highly organized with strong planning, problem-solving, and analytical capabilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation and compliance standards.
- Ability to analyze maintenance performance data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in managing maintenance budgets and contractor relationships.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous.
