Maintenance Supervisor - FIFO Opportunity in Queensland

Job Overview

We are expanding and searching for skilled Maintenance Supervisors to join our team in Weipa, Queensland, providing safe, efficient, and sustainable maintenance operations on a FIFO basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate daily maintenance operations ensuring all tasks meet safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
• Plan and prioritize both preventative and corrective maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance personnel.
• Conduct thorough inspections and troubleshoot equipment faults to prevent operational disruptions.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation including reports and compliance records.
• Uphold workplace health, safety, and environmental standards rigorously.
• Manage maintenance budgets and optimize the allocation of resources.
• Coordinate external contractors and specialized service providers effectively.
• Monitor maintenance performance and initiate continuous improvement strategies.
• Foster strong relationships with operational stakeholders to ensure maintenance objectives are met.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a trade qualification in Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, or Carpentry.
• Minimum of five years supervising maintenance teams within industrial, mining, facilities management, or comparable environments.
• Previous experience operating in FIFO or other remote settings.
• Comprehensive knowledge of building maintenance systems and mechanical and electrical maintenance best practices.
• Proven experience in planning and scheduling maintenance programs.
• Proficiency in utilizing Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Strong leadership, communication, and personnel management capabilities.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Thorough understanding of workplace health and safety legislation and compliance.
• Ability to analyze performance metrics and apply continuous improvement methods.

Desired Skills

• Experience in managing maintenance budgets and contractor coordination.
• Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
