We are seeking Maintenance Officers to join our team in Robertson, Queensland. This role involves ensuring the safety, functionality, and upkeep of homes and communal areas within our communities. Candidates with a trade background or strong domestic maintenance skills who enjoy helping others and solving problems are encouraged to express interest.

Key Responsibilities

• Performing general fixes and handy tasks such as painting, hanging pictures, and replacing lights.
• Conducting minor plumbing repairs including replacing taps and washers.
• Maintaining external assets like lighting and sprinkler systems.
• Executing scheduled preventative maintenance tasks throughout the community.
• Managing and organizing community maintenance tools and equipment to keep them safe and fit for use.
• Documenting maintenance work, notes, and updates accurately.
• Being a welcoming, approachable figure for residents while collaborating with the community team.
• Note: Gardening duties are not part of this role.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in trade-related or general maintenance roles, including hands-on handy work.
• Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset with the capability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve maintenance issues independently.
• Knowledge of maintenance schedules and the typical lifespan of community facilities and equipment.
• Clear communication skills to explain maintenance activities effectively to residents.
• A positive, friendly demeanor with pride in quality workmanship.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Completion of at least two COVID-19 vaccinations.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting pay from $30.34 per hour plus superannuation and applicable award benefits including penalty rates, overtime, and allowances.
