Job description
Position Overview
As Lounge Captain at The Ritz-Carlton in Singapore, you will oversee the smooth operation of lounge services, leading staff to consistently deliver high-caliber guest experiences that align with the brand's renowned "Gold Standards." You will play a vital role in ensuring teamwork, service quality, and adherence to company policies within the food and beverage setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate team efforts to ensure seamless service and fulfillment of guest needs.
- Monitor staff appearance and correct grooming or attire issues promptly.
- Perform opening and closing procedures including preparing supplies, cleaning equipment and spaces, and securing premises.
- Inspect storage areas for orderliness, cleanliness, and proper inventory rotation (FIFO).
- Conduct inventories and requisition supplies as needed to maintain operational readiness.
- Supervise dining area availability, guest service, safety, and comfort.
- Initiate work orders for maintenance and repairs as required.
- Support management with hiring, training, scheduling, staff evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching.
- Act as a role model and first point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process.
- Ensure compliance with all company, safety, and security policies; report hazards and incidents to management.
- Maintain professional personal appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Welcome guests warmly, anticipate requirements, assist guests with disabilities, and express sincere appreciation.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members.
- Foster positive workplace relationships, support team goals, and respond constructively to employee concerns.
- Uphold quality standards and pursue continuous improvement in efficiency, productivity, safety, and cost management.
- Accurately read and interpret varied information formats; visually inspect tools and equipment for defects.
- Physically able to stand, walk, or sit for full shifts; handle objects up to 50 pounds; access confined spaces and stairs; and perform manual tasks involving bending, twisting, and stooping.
- Carry out additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum educational attainment of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least two years of experience in a related work environment.
- Minimum of one year supervising staff.
- No required certifications or licenses.
