Role overview
This full-time, non-management security role is based in Accra, Ghana, on Liberation Road in Airport City. The position focuses on protecting guests, employees, property, and company assets while maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
Core duties
- Routinely patrol the property and help guests with room access when needed.
- Keep watch over CCTV, perimeter alarms, duress alarms, and fire and life safety systems.
- Secure entrances when required and perform daily checks for physical hazards.
- Respond to incidents, accidents, emergencies, and disturbances, including contacting emergency medical services or giving first aid/CPR when appropriate.
- Support guests and staff during emergency situations and notify the right people after accidents, attacks, or similar events.
- Handle interruptions, complaints, and unsafe conditions, and take steps to calm disruptive situations.
- Remove unauthorized or unwelcome persons without disrupting normal operations.
- Respond to vehicle accidents and thefts, using approved code responses and calling for support as needed.
- Prepare incident reports, shift summaries, and daily activity reports covering all security and loss prevention matters.
- Keep all security, loss prevention, and property records confidential and share them only with authorized people.
- Carry out investigations, collect evidence, and interview relevant parties.

- Follow company policies, procedures, safety training, and certifications, and report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions.
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and protect proprietary information and company assets.
- Deliver courteous guest service, including welcoming guests, acknowledging needs, assisting people with disabilities, and showing appreciation.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Build strong working relationships, support team goals, and meet quality standards.
- Be able to remain on your feet or move around for long periods, and respond quickly to work situations.
- Visually check information and equipment, use computers or POS systems to enter and find information, and handle objects of varying size and weight.
- Work in narrow, confined, elevated, uneven, slippery, or stairway areas, and bend, reach, twist, stoop, lift, push, pull, and carry as required.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
Preferred qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is preferred. No prior related work experience or supervisory background is required, and no license or certification is needed. Some states may require additional licensing or registration for this role.
