Loss Prevention Officer

Role overview

This position supports hotel safety and security at a property in Doha, Qatar. The role is part of the Loss Prevention & Security function and is a non-management, full-time position.

Core duties

• Conduct regular patrols across the property and help guests access their rooms when needed.
• Keep watch over CCTV feeds, perimeter alarms, duress alarms, and fire/life safety systems.
• Secure entrances when required and complete routine hazard inspections.
• Respond to emergencies such as accidents, attacks, or disturbances, including contacting EMS or giving first aid/CPR when necessary.
• Support guests and employees during emergency events and call for outside help when needed.
• Prepare incident reports, shift summaries, and daily activity reports for all security and loss-prevention matters.
• Handle interruptions, complaints, safety concerns, vehicle accidents, theft incidents, and the removal of unauthorized persons without disrupting hotel operations.
• Carry out investigations, gather evidence, and interview relevant people.
• Use proper code responses when requesting assistance.

• Follow company policies, safety procedures, and required training or certifications.
• Keep uniforms and personal grooming clean, professional, and aligned with company standards.
• Protect confidential information, company assets, and all security-related documents.
• Welcome guests courteously, respond to service needs, and assist guests with disabilities as required.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, write accurate documents, and build positive working relationships.
• Work collaboratively with the team and meet quality assurance expectations.
• Remain able to stand, sit, walk, move quickly, inspect equipment, use computers/POS systems, and physically handle objects and movement through confined, elevated, uneven, slippery, or stair-based areas as part of the shift.
• Complete other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
• Some states may have additional licensing or registration requirements for this role.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or GED is preferred. No prior related work experience is required, and there is no supervisory experience requirement. No license or certification is listed.
