About the Role

Join Star Construction LLC as a Locator I, where your primary responsibility will be marking underground utilities with flags and paint, playing a critical role in ensuring safety and efficiency on construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate utility detection equipment to locate and identify underground utilities, seeking guidance from experienced colleagues when necessary.
• Interpret utility maps to accurately find and mark underground lines.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all utility locates performed.
• Respond promptly and courteously to excavation notices.
• Engage effectively with excavators, utility representatives, and company personnel.
• Use light manual digging techniques with a shovel when required.
• Work overtime, be available for travel, and fulfill on-call or after-hours duties as needed.
• Perform duties under various weather conditions.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Authorized to work in the United States for this employer.
• Possess a High School Diploma, GED, or have equivalent relevant experience.
• Hold a valid state driver's license (no provisional license) with an acceptable driving record.

Physical Demands

• Regularly work independently in remote settings with activities requiring arm elevation above shoulder level, vehicle operation, fine hand movements, bending, stooping, standing, walking, lifting up to 55 pounds, and keyboard/mouse use.
• Occasionally utilize portable ladders, work in confined spaces, and climb stairs.
