About the role
Tesco Ireland is looking to hire a Line Manager for its Carlow location. In this position, you will take ownership of a department and guide a team to deliver an excellent shopping experience for customers. The role sits within a values-led business that focuses on improving everyday life for shoppers, colleagues, and communities, while supporting the development of people with strong leadership ability and an entrepreneurial mindset.
What you'll do
- Guide and support the team so customers receive strong service, high standards, and dependable product availability.
- Deliver the performance targets set for your departments.
- Make day-to-day decisions that help your team perform effectively.
- Roll out the training plan and ensure colleagues are trained, assessed as competent, and keep their training records current.
- Make sure department routines, systems, and processes are completed correctly and on time.
- Plan seasonal, promotional, and sales-driving activity to maximise sales, presentation, and customer impact.
- Take responsibility for safe and legally compliant routines, with action plans in place where issues are identified.
- Ensure colleagues understand both expectations and behaviours, and that they have goals, regular reviews, career conversations, and an active development plan.
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback across the store to build team capability.
- Support your team with the confidence to address behavioural issues and improve the customer shopping trip.
- Create a workplace that supports innovation, learning, and personal development.
- Model the culture of a place where customers enjoy shopping and colleagues enjoy working.

- Previous management experience is essential.
- A proven record of putting customers and colleagues first in the right way.

- Comfort being the main point of contact for department queries.
- Experience influencing and shaping outcomes at a senior level.
- Retail experience is preferred.
