About the Role
Tesco Ireland is currently recruiting Customer Delivery Drivers to join their team, playing a vital role in offering Irish shoppers an exceptional home delivery experience. This position is dynamic and physically engaging, featuring diverse daily tasks as drivers assist customers in various ways. Drivers enjoy autonomy on the road but are supported by a network of managers and colleagues at base.
Key Duties
- Deliver an outstanding home shopping service, prioritizing the customer’s experience.
- Assist with loading the van as needed and verify the vehicle's roadworthiness before journeys.
- Follow the pre-planned schedule and delivery routes carefully.
- Maintain a professional appearance in uniform and engage with customers warmly.
- Drive safely, responsibly, and in compliance with traffic laws.
- Respect all other road users enthusiastically and courteously.
- Greet customers by name, providing friendly and courteous service.
- Handle customers' deliveries with care as if they were your own items.
Candidate Requirements
- Hold a full Irish or EU driving licence (manual or automatic) for a minimum of 2 years with no more than 3 penalty points.
- Exhibit safe and considerate driving habits.
- Be motivated by assisting others and enjoy customer interaction.
- Possess personable traits, a good sense of humor, and effective communication skills.
- Demonstrate initiative and sound judgment in routine and unexpected situations.
- Be committed to positively impacting customers and colleagues alike.
- Remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Applicants must pass Garda Vetting; disqualifications within the past 10 years will disqualify candidacy.
Additional Hiring Information
Offers are conditional on the submission of a valid bank account prior to start date. Proof of current penalty points must be provided during assessment, obtainable from the National Driver Licence Services (NDLS).
