Job description
Role Overview
The Lifestyle Mixologist role is centered on shaping a memorable beverage and guest experience rather than simply preparing drinks. This position calls for someone who keeps up with emerging beverage trends, appreciates locally inspired offerings, and understands changing guest expectations. In addition to mixology skills, the role acts as the welcoming face of the space and takes responsibility for guest service beyond the bar itself.
You will help ensure the bar area is polished, efficient, and operating smoothly while building strong connections with colleagues across the hotel and within the local community. The goal is to anticipate guest needs and deliver thoughtful, high-quality service every time.
Key Duties
- Create a distinctive and memorable guest experience through attentive beverage service.
- Stay informed about current drink trends, local specialties, and evolving guest preferences.
- Serve as a host for the space, supporting guest service beyond beverage preparation.
- Maintain the bar’s appearance, organization, and day-to-day functionality.
- Build working relationships across the hotel and in the surrounding community to better anticipate guest needs.
- Provide accurate information to guests about wines, including origin, vintage, and style.
- Handle cash and other transaction-related details carefully and accurately.
- Support team hiring, training, and development efforts to help build a strong service culture.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as assigned.
Work Standards and Physical Expectations
This position requires a strong focus on safety, policy compliance, confidentiality, asset protection, and professional grooming. The role also involves extended periods of standing, sitting, or walking, along with hands-on physical activity such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing items weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. You should also be comfortable reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, stooping, and pulling.
Education and Experience
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred. At least 1 year of related work experience is required. No supervisory background is needed, and no license or certification is specified.
Equal Opportunity
The employer is committed to equal opportunity and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds. Hiring and workplace practices are intended to be inclusive and non-discriminatory, including on protected grounds such as disability and veteran status, as well as other protections under applicable law.
Brand and Culture
The role sits within a luxury hospitality environment known for refined service, creativity, and genuine care for guests. Team members are expected to uphold the brand’s high service standards and contribute to a culture built on professionalism, pride, and exceptional guest experiences.
