Job description
Job Summary
This role is centered on supervising a water area, responding to emergencies, and helping swimmers who are weak or injured reach safety. It also involves engaging with pool users to uphold pool rules, monitoring people in the water, and offering support and guidance when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in line with all applicable policies and procedures.
- Carry out rescue actions whenever a situation requires them.
- Collaborate effectively with other team members.
- Provide emergency first aid, perform CPR, and operate an AED when needed.
- Protect the safety of everyone using the swimming pools.
- Complete daily cleaning and upkeep tasks for the pool area.
- Inspect lifeguard rescue equipment each day to confirm it is safe and ready for use.
- Keep the pool area neat and make sure equipment is stored correctly.
- Maintain overall responsibility for pool users and their safety.
- Record the number of people using the pool each day.
- Apply standard operating procedures consistently at all times.
- Escalate equipment faults, maintenance concerns, and user feedback to the line manager.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or an equivalent credential.
- Internationally recognized lifeguard certification, with RLSS or STA preferred.
- Internationally recognized first aid certification, including CPR and AED training.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar setting.
- Safeguarding certification.
- Strong swimming ability and a good fitness level.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Strong spoken and written English skills.
