Life Skills Coach

Role Overview

Spread Your Wings, LLC. – ILS Services is seeking a part-time Independent Living Life Skills Coach to support clients across the East Bay area. The position is based on weekday daytime work, with occasional Saturday coverage. Candidates must be bilingual in English and Spanish.

What You Will Do

• Guide individuals through daily living skills such as cooking, budgeting, and personal hygiene.
• Support adults with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges through encouragement, motivation, and consistent coaching.
• Help clients build weekly goals and practical schedules that fit their needs.
• Maintain clear records, including case notes and quarterly progress reports.
• Spend most of the workweek in the field with clients, with a smaller portion dedicated to administrative documentation.
• Work closely with program managers, regional center coordinators, and training staff to support client progress.

Requirements

Applicants need a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and dependable transportation. The role requires bilingual English/Spanish communication, the ability to travel and work in and around Sunnyvale, Mountain View, and North Santa Clara, and eligibility to pass a background check in line with state industry standards. Basic computer skills are also needed, including Microsoft Word, email, and simple data entry.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Comfort with independent one-on-one work is important. Prior behavioral health experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Schedule and Work Setting

This is an onsite part-time role. The schedule is Monday through Friday, during the day, with occasional Saturday work. The service area covers the East Bay, and commuting across the listed local service regions may be required.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay rate: $22.50 per hour.
