About the role
Qatar Airways is hiring a Licensed Aircraft Technician for its Specialized Services (Welding) team in Doha. The position focuses on aircraft component maintenance, certifying completed work, and offering specialist technical guidance to mechanics when needed.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out aircraft component maintenance in line with established policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Complete and certify scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks on aircraft and components within authorized limits.
- Identify potential work delays or technical issues early and escalate them to the engineer in charge while helping resolve them through subject-matter expertise.
- Operate equipment safely and correctly by following the relevant manuals and instructions.
- Use the appropriate tools and equipment for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities to stay fully compliant with regulations.
- Check that all tools and equipment are calibrated, serviceable, and fit for use before and after work.
- Finish assigned maintenance tasks on time to support operational needs across areas such as supply chain, line maintenance, and base maintenance.
- Use roster planning and workforce coordination to make the best use of manpower and available resources.
- Set work priorities for allocated staff so that tasks and component release deadlines are met efficiently.
- Make sure team members under direct supervision follow approved maintenance data such as CMM and SRM, along with health and safety rules.
- Take on other related duties as assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements
- High school qualification, vocational qualification, or diploma with at least 4 years of related work experience; or a bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of related experience.
- Training on welding equipment.
- Valid company authorization for welding.
- Approved welder status in line with AWS D17 or BCAR Section A8-10.
- Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance principles and procedures.
- Knowledge of air legislation.
- Familiarity with equipment maintenance, safe operation, and proper handling.
- Ability to communicate clearly with internal or external customers and cross-functional teams.
Additional requirements and documents
- Educational qualification certificates.
- Welding equipment training certificate.
- Approved welder certificate as per AWS D17 or BCAR A8-10.
- Company authorization.
- MOE and company training records.
- Evidence of at least 3 years of relevant experience, such as an experience record or letter.
