About the Role
Join Sunshine Coast Council’s Arts, Heritage and Libraries Branch, a team dedicated to enriching our community’s cultural life through learning, connections, and experiences. As a Library Officer, you will provide exceptional library services that foster curiosity, promote digital inclusion, and enhance community wellbeing by supporting daily library operations and engaging with visitors in welcoming spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service and assist library users with their information and digital resource needs.
- Organize and promote library programs, events, and educational sessions to engage diverse audiences.
- Support services related to reference queries, technology use, and digital literacy development.
- Maintain library collections, manage displays, and ensure the environment is inviting and accessible.
Candidate Requirements
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills to connect with a diverse community.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive, adaptable approach focused on delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Technologically confident and eager to adopt new systems, as well as capable of assisting others in developing digital skills.
- Comfortable facilitating programs and engaging groups across all age ranges, from children’s literacy to adult digital education.
- Possession of a Certificate III in Library and Information Services, equivalent qualifications, or relevant professional experience.
- Holds or can obtain an Active Blue Card prior to starting employment.
Additional Conditions
A pre-employment medical assessment is mandatory to verify physical fitness for tasks involving frequent heavy lifting, bending, and labouring.
