Role Overview
We invite applications from experienced and highly organized Legal Secretaries to join our Road Traffic Accidents team. This role offers a fulfilling opportunity to deliver high-caliber secretarial and administrative support to a team of legal professionals in a dynamic and respected department. Responsibilities include typing and managing files, preparing court bundles, handling client communications by phone, arranging meetings, and conferences. Although transitioning toward a paperless environment, some traditional filing tasks will still be part of your responsibilities.
Key Duties
- Collaborate with a pool of Legal Secretaries supporting multiple Road Traffic Accident lawyers.
- Prepare legal documents and correspondence, including pleadings and court bundles.
- Photocopy and scan documents, assisted by the Administration team when necessary.
- Professionally manage incoming and outgoing telephone calls.
- Organize appointments, meetings, and liaise effectively with lawyers, clients, counsel, and other parties.
- Support fellow Legal Secretaries and broader administrative staff as required.
- Assist in updating the Proclaim case management system when appropriate.
Qualifications and Attributes
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary is mandatory.
- Excellent proficiency in English spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
- Strong IT literacy.
- Outstanding customer service skills and a polite, professional telephone manner.
- High attention to detail.
- Capability to prioritize tasks and maintain efficiency in a fast-paced workplace.
- Familiarity with the Proclaim case management system is desirable.
- Advanced word processing and audio typing expertise.
- Maintain an audio typing speed exceeding 65 words per minute.
- Experience with digital dictation tools, preferably Diktamen.
Salary and Work Schedule
- Salary up to £28,000, commensurate with experience.
- Normal working hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, and Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
