Overview
Express Solicitors, an award-winning personal injury law firm established in 2000 with headquarters in Manchester, is seeking a Personal Assistant to support a Partner in the Road Traffic Accident (RTA) department. Key Responsibilities
- Drafting correspondence and documents using audiotyping and word processing tools.
- Managing digital filing systems, including opening, closing, storing, and retrieving client records.
- Preparing correspondence and related documents for dispatch as required.
- Scheduling appointments, organising meetings, and managing diaries effectively.
- Supporting other secretaries and administrative team members when needed.
- Providing professional and courteous assistance to clients in person and via phone.
- Maintaining confidentiality of all client documentation and information.
- Participating in required training activities to develop skills and knowledge.
- Upholding the firm's client care standards and service promises consistently.
Candidate Profile
- Proven legal secretarial experience, preferably within personal injury or civil litigation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and strong IT literacy.
- Excellent command of English spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
- Excellent word processing and audio typing skills with a minimum speed of 65 words per minute.
- Meticulous attention to detail and organisational abilities.
- Strong customer service skills, including a professional and friendly telephonic manner.
- Experience with Proclaim case management software and digital dictation systems (ideally Diktamen) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with court forms and drafting pleadings is desirable.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Compensation and Working Hours
- Salary ranges from £27,000 to £30,000 annually depending on experience.
- Standard working hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:30am to 5:30pm and Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm.
