Job description
Overview
This is a one-off, paid consulting engagement for seasoned professionals in legal operations, e-billing, spend analytics, legal technology, vendor management, or legal knowledge management. The work is centered on sharing practical, real-world expertise for an AI Marketplace project, with no advance preparation required.
This is not a permanent or full-time position. It is a contract-based, project-led interview assignment.
Engagement Details
Location: U.S.-based experts only
Format: Remote, one-time project interview
Estimated compensation: $120/hour, prorated for an expected 30-minute task
Participants will complete a recorded, AI-guided video interview describing how they perform their work in practice.
Work Focus
The interview will explore how you handle tasks and decisions across invoice review, e-billing, legal spend reporting, vendor and legal-tech evaluation, and knowledge management workflows.
- Checking invoices against billing rules, approved rates, staffing requirements, block billing restrictions, expense handling, appeal processing, approval routing, and payment instructions
- Creating spend reports and dashboards by firm, matter type, business unit, savings, budget, forecast, and actual spend
- Handling vendor and legal-tech assessment, security and procurement review, implementation, user adoption, renewal decisions, and value tracking
- Managing playbooks, templates, matter taxonomies, knowledge repositories, data quality, and the reliability of reporting outputs
What the Interview Requires
You should be able to walk through your experience step by step, explain how decisions are made, and give concrete examples from real work rather than general summaries.
Additional Expectations
The engagement is designed to gather detailed workflow explanations and decision-making logic. If selected, you will be paid for completing the recorded interview, and the amount shown is an estimate based on the expected time involved.
You will arrange your own schedule and use your own equipment or tools to complete the interview. Participation does not prevent you from taking on other opportunities.
After completion, your recording, transcript, and AI-generated insights will be shared with the internal research team and AI lab partner. The information will be used to help build a structured task list for the profession and improve AI models.
