- Create and revise bespoke and standard contract documents, including maintaining precedent files.
- Examine technical contract materials (such as specifications and procedures) to ensure strong legal protections.
- Lead management of claims and dispute resolution efforts, devise negotiation strategies, and coordinate with external legal advisors.
- Draft and review commercial contracts spanning the business operations.
- Deliver legal training sessions and advice on critical topics.
- Provide legal guidance on matters involving Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability laws, procurement and competition law, and intellectual property rights, managing external counsel involvement as needed.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified solicitor or barrister with approximately 3 to 5 years post-qualification experience, open to candidates with varying PQE levels but suitable skills.
- Demonstrable experience supporting non-contentious construction legal matters.
- Strong ability to interpret client needs and convey precise, clear legal opinions.
- Self-driven with capacity to operate independently and handle multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Background in a construction-focused legal team, whether in a leading law firm or in-house environment.
- Preferred experience includes in-house or secondment roles at contractors, dispute resolution skills, and oversight of junior lawyers.
Employee Benefits
- Competitive salary package.
- 8% pension contribution.
- Private health insurance.
- Dental coverage scheme.
- 26 days of annual leave, increasing with tenure.
- Two dedicated wellbeing days per year.
- Paid maternity and paternity leave programs.
- Strong emphasis on learning and internal career advancement.
- Role-dependent company vehicles.
- Additional employee perks and benefits.
