Position Overview

PrimeTalent's client is searching for a highly skilled Legal Assistant to join the support team remotely. This role focuses on managing litigation cases from initiation through resolution. The perfect candidate will be meticulous, possess exemplary word processing abilities, and demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Prioritizing multiple tasks with professionalism and composure is essential. This position provides overflow support across five office locations and reports directly to the Director of Legal Operations and the Irvine Office Managing Partner.

Work Schedule and Location

The position is full-time and remote, working Monday to Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a one-hour unpaid lunch. Candidates must reside near one of the five California offices (Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Sacramento), ideally near Los Angeles or Orange County for an initial 30-day onsite training period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle litigation case management from beginning to end in support of attorneys.
  • Utilize calendaring systems and court research tools like eDockets, Milana, or Compula to ensure accurate scheduling aligned with relevant court and judge rules.
  • Manage eFiling processes for both State and Federal courts, including preparing tables of authority, bookmarking exhibits, performing redactions, and applying Bates stamps.
  • Support administrative tasks such as travel arrangements, expense reporting, and attorney timesheet entry.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of five years as a Litigation Legal Assistant, preferably with labor and employment law exposure, though this is not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong critical thinking, attention to detail, proofreading capabilities, and the capacity to multitask effectively.
  • Experience with calendaring and cross-checking of dates using specialized software.
  • Knowledge of court rules and eFiling procedures at state and federal levels.

Educational Background

High school diploma or equivalent is required; college coursework is preferred.
