Deira International School (DIS), located in Dubai Festival City, is an IB World School with international accreditation. Universal American School (UAS), also an IB World School based in Dubai Festival City, serves 1,500 students representing 75 nationalities. Rated Very Good by KHDA, UAS offers a comprehensive curriculum from Early Years through High School, fostering a rich, student-centred, hands-on learning environment.

Role Overview

The Learning Support Assistant (LSA) position is open within both DIS and UAS, major international schools in Dubai. The LSA will partner closely with classroom teachers to deliver focused in-class aid that helps all students access the curriculum effectively, gain confidence, and maximise their potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Aid class teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons across subjects and grade levels.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to reinforce learning aims and encourage student self-assurance.
• Modify classroom resources and tasks to accommodate diverse learner needs.
• Help students with learning activities to ensure active participation during lessons.

Student Wellbeing and Pastoral Care

• Observe and report on student wellbeing to the class teacher promptly.
• Encourage a secure, respectful, and inclusive school atmosphere for all pupils.
• Support students during transitions, breaks, and extracurricular activities as necessary.

Planning and Assessment Support

• Work collaboratively with teachers to create differentiated activities and suitable educational materials.
• Monitor and document student progress, sharing relevant insights with teachers.
• Participate in student support plan evaluations and attend related team meetings.
• Aid in organising classroom materials and learning displays.
