Job description
Role overview
This position is for an assessor covering leadership, management, and project management apprenticeships across Wales. The role is home-based with field visits to learners in their workplaces, so travel is a key part of the job.
The post is permanent and full time, with Monday to Friday working hours. Reduced hours may also be considered. The salary is £30,000 to £30,500 depending on skills and experience.
Applicants should already have experience in leadership, management, and/or project management. Prior qualifications in assessment practice are not mandatory, but the employer expects a willingness to work towards them after joining.
What the role involves
You will support and assess learners on Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship in Project Management, Level 3 Apprenticeship, and Levels 4 and 5 Higher Apprenticeships in Leadership and Management. This also includes helping learners work toward the Essential Skills qualification in Digital Literacy.
The role focuses on evaluating learner performance, skills, and potential, then giving clear feedback that helps them progress and succeed. You will plan assessments, maintain regular contact with learners, and keep mentors and/or employers updated on progress and achievement throughout the programme.
Working arrangement and travel
This is a home-based field role. Caseloads are assigned based on the successful candidate’s location and are usually within about a 50-mile radius, although there may be occasions when travel goes beyond that. The employer expects the candidate to be based in North Wales.
Pay and benefits
Along with the salary, the package includes mileage reimbursement, 30 days of holiday plus bank holidays, pension, CPD support, healthcare, a volunteer day, birthday leave, wellbeing initiatives, flexible working, funded professional memberships, funded eye tests, a one-off contribution toward glasses, funded DBS checks, gift vouchers for ideas implemented by the company, gift vouchers for special occasions, and all IT equipment supplied.
Training and development
Successful candidates with substantial relevant occupational experience will be offered support, training, and CPD to work toward the required qualifications.
