Job description

Role overview

In this position, you will help shape Nike Energy Marketing efforts for North America, connecting the brand with youth communities that are influencing culture today. The work sits at the intersection of sport, fashion, art, and design, and is focused on creating fresh ideas that strengthen the brand and support business goals.

Team and collaboration

You will join the North America Energy team and partner closely with the NA Brand, Global Brand, and the New York and Los Angeles City Energy marketing groups. The role also involves regular collaboration with North America enterprise functions such as Marketplace, Merchandising, and Consumer Business.

What the role needs

Nike is seeking a seasoned marketer with a strong connection to youth culture in North America. The right person will bring imagination, strategic thinking, and an ability to build stories that resonate with the next generation. This individual should be comfortable spotting opportunities, taking thoughtful risks, strengthening brand value, and helping grow the business through cultural relevance. A collaborative mindset, openness, and strong passion are key.

Key work areas

As the North America Energy Marketing Lead, you will report to the NA Energy Marketing Director and help balance Nike’s Sport Offense and marketing execution through key talent relationships across the North American cultural landscape.

  • Develop inventive marketing ideas that elevate the connection between sport and culture through creative thinking.
  • Align marketing plans with the NA Sport Offense, including Basketball and Soccer, with potential support for other sports, while identifying opportunities across always-on activity and major cultural or sporting moments.
  • Lead product collaboration initiatives with external partners as well as global and city-based teams.
  • Work with city teams to identify and manage a network of cultural catalysts across North America that can advance brand priorities and help shape the future of sport in line with global strategy.
  • Write briefs for and oversee external agency partners.
  • Collect and interpret insights about forward-looking consumers so the team can better connect with youth in local markets and feed learnings back to North America and Global Energy teams for future concepts.

Experience and qualifications

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Between 5 and 8 years of experience in brand management or a related brand function, particularly with cultural marketing and collaborations.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a similar field, or an equivalent mix of education, experience, and training.
  • Background in cultural marketing in North America, along with a solid understanding of future-facing consumers, the North American landscape, and Nike’s place within it.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and project management abilities across a variety of brand and business stakeholders.
  • The confidence and interpersonal skill to handle challenging discussions with internal and external partners.
  • Good visual judgment and the ability to maintain a consistent brand look and feel across channels.
  • A highly collaborative approach and comfort working in a fast-moving, agile environment.
  • A genuine passion for sport and the impact it can have in society.
