Role Overview
We are offering a 12-month fixed-term position for a Lawyer dedicated to aiding survivors engaged in the National Redress Scheme and the Territories Stolen Generations Redress Scheme. This role involves providing compassionate, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive legal help to individuals who have experienced institutional child sexual abuse or belong to the Stolen Generations.

Key Responsibilities
- Offer legal guidance and assistance to clients applying for redress schemes.
- Collaborate closely with professionals in legal, social work, financial counselling, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander engagement teams.
- Provide holistic, culturally safe support aimed at ensuring clients understand their options and feel valued and respected throughout the process.
Desired Profile
- Legal practitioners who demonstrate empathy, sound ethics, cultural awareness, and a commitment to social justice.
- Strong communicators capable of establishing trust with individuals experiencing trauma, grief, or distress.
- Prior experience in relevant areas like redress law, personal injury, human rights, community legal services, First Nations justice, or working with affected individuals is highly preferred.
- Dedication to survivor-centred and trauma-informed practice philosophies.
