About the Role
Join Parsons Corporation in Abu Dhabi as a Land Surveyor and contribute to major infrastructure and landscaping projects. This role involves detailed fieldwork to survey Earth's surface, establish measurements, and support construction and land planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and organize surveying tasks to determine exact locations, elevations, lines, and areas for construction, mapping, and land division.
- Examine historical survey data including maps, deeds, and physical markers to gather information for current surveys.
- Utilize photogrammetric records to develop new survey data and establish methods for survey control points.
- Conduct fieldwork to locate rights-of-way, topographical features, property boundaries, and survey corners.
- Manage document systems by sourcing, analyzing, and organizing historical survey records and incorporating them effectively.
- Authorize permits for the temporary removal or destruction of survey corners as required during projects.
- Prepare, review, file, and distribute maps illustrating field survey results.
- Lead coordination of complex or critical survey projects involving advanced electronic measuring tools and sizable teams.
- Engage in computing and platting for survey data analysis.
- Formulate procedures and specifications for statewide survey contracts; oversee and approve contracted survey services.
- Validate right-of-way and electronic communication site submissions for technical accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying or a related diploma.
- At least 8 years of practical experience in land surveying, particularly in landscaping, parks, streetscape, and earthworks projects.
- Strong knowledge of surveying techniques, instruments, and engineering principles.
- Proficiency in drafting, geometry, calculus, engineering formulae, and CAD software for maps and drawings.
- Experience supporting the construction of roads, infrastructure, and landscaping developments.
- Comprehensive understanding of engineering and construction processes and industry standards.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven capability to lead projects and coordinate with engineers, architects, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Accurate documentation and record-keeping of survey work.
