Plant Utility Operator - Lloydminster Canola Facility

About the Role

Join our Lloydminster canola crushing plant as a full-time Plant Utility Operator. In this position, you will carry out housekeeping, sanitation, and equipment cleaning tasks essential to plant operations. With training, your duties will expand to inspecting and cleaning process machines such as hammer mills, flaking mills, baghouses, pumps, expellers, and decanters. The job requires working in both indoor and outdoor environments under various weather conditions, reinforcing our commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation across production areas.
• Inspect and sanitize process equipment following training.
• Assist with running plant operation equipment as needed.
• Conduct cleaning of indoor and outdoor areas using sweeping, shoveling, and general maintenance techniques.
• Help sample and grade canola seed deliveries, documenting information accurately.
• Operate mobile and mechanical equipment after completing training.
• Adhere strictly to all safety, food safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Undertake additional duties as required to support daily operations.

Candidate Profile

• Excellent communication and ability to follow instructions carefully.
• Positive attitude with a strong team orientation.
• Self-motivated and reliable when completing assigned tasks.
• Physically fit and capable of repetitive work and extended periods of standing or sitting.
• Comfortable working in variable indoor and outdoor weather conditions.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Possession of a 4th Class ABSA Steam Ticket is an advantage.
• Experience in industrial or plant settings is beneficial.

Work Schedule

• 12-hour rotating shifts: a cycle of 4 days on/5 off, 5 days on/4 off, and 5 days on/5 off, including day and night rotations.
• Potential for occasional overtime.
• Shift hours may vary in the future to accommodate 24/7 plant operations.

• Hourly wage of $32.77.
