Kitchen Assistant

About the Role

Baxterstorey is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join its busy team in Burton Upon Trent on a temporary contract through January 2027. This role involves being a representative of the brand by delivering memorable food experiences while ensuring seamless kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

• Support chefs in simple food prep tasks such as chopping vegetables, making sauces, and plating meals.
• Serve customers and handle cashless payment systems.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of kitchen areas at all times.
• Operate dishwashing machines and hand wash kitchen utensils.
• Manage deliveries and ensure proper storage of supplies.
• Dispose of waste, clean floors, and uphold overall hygiene standards.
• Comply with all food safety and health regulations.
• Assist in stock rotation and notify supervisors of low inventory.
• Refill vending machines as required.

This position operates in a 7-day weekly schedule with multiple shift options: 8:00am-12:00pm, 4:00pm-8:00pm, and 12:00am-4:00am. The contract duration extends until January 2027 with a 12-hour contract and potential for overtime. The starting pay is from £12.80 per hour.
