Role Overview
We seek a commercially savvy and relationship-focused Key Account Manager for our New Zealand Commercial team based in Auckland. Reporting directly to the Head of Woolworths and Mass Merchants, you will be responsible for managing and expanding key retail accounts to meet strategic growth targets through effective account management, business planning, commercial negotiations, and collaboration.
Main Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement account and Joint Business Plans (JBPs) for key customers.
- Lead pricing strategies, promotional activities, forecasting, and inventory management.
- Establish and maintain strong connections with buyers and senior client stakeholders.
- Manage commercial negotiations and contract renewal processes.
- Conduct insightful monthly and quarterly business performance reviews.
- Work collaboratively with Sales, Category, Revenue Growth Management, Marketing, Shopper Insights, and Supply Chain teams to meet goals.
- Ensure outstanding execution of plans by partnering with field sales teams and clients.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is an experienced Account Manager or Junior Key Account Manager familiar with a fast-paced commercial setting and dedicated to nurturing win-win partnerships.
- Proven track record managing retail or grocery customer accounts.
- Strong commercial sense encompassing forecasting, planning, and P&L oversight.
- Excellent communication and presentation capabilities.
- Ability to cultivate trusted relationships with buyers and key decision-makers.
- Skilled negotiator with influential abilities.
- Proactive, inquisitive, and solution-oriented approach.
- High organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Capable of working independently and cooperating effectively across teams.
- Experienced in delivering business reviews and actionable recommendations to clients.
- Passion for driving growth and launching innovative concepts in the market.
