About the Fellowship
This 12-week fellowship is part of the Creative Collective initiative, aimed at emerging creatives interested in gaining genuine industry experience in the commercial, beauty, lifestyle, and fashion modeling sector in New York City. The program focuses on consistent portfolio creation, expanding professional networks, and fostering opportunities for all participants. It is not a typical internship or assistant role, but an immersive development experience for those passionate about talent management, model management, creative production, artist development, or fashion industry business aspects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a dependable Creative Collective network including photographers, makeup artists, and stylists.
- Coordinate regular time-for-portfolio (TFP) photoshoots with the Creative Collective members.
- Investigate and identify modeling opportunities in the market.
- Advocate and pitch modeling opportunities, campaigns, auditions, collaborations, and creative projects.
- Establish and nurture professional relationships with photographers, brands, agencies, makeup artists, stylists, and creative directors.
- Assist in organizing portfolio shoots and conceptualizing creative ideas.
- Discover local brand partnerships and networking prospects.
- Maintain clear and organized communication channels with collaborators.
Candidate Profile
- Strong interest in talent, model, or artist management, creative production, fashion, beauty, media, or entertainment fields.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Comfortable and proactive in networking and outreach activities.
- Self-driven, resourceful, and professional attitude.
- Effective communication capabilities.
- Eagerness to contribute to building a new creative framework.
- Previous experience is beneficial but not mandatory; enthusiasm, initiative, and professionalism are paramount.
Fellowship Details
- Duration of 12 weeks.
- Hybrid work model based in New York City.
- Flexible scheduling with approximately 5-10 hours weekly commitment.
Compensation
Upon completing the fellowship successfully, participants receive a $1,000 award. Additionally, fellows earn a 20% commission on any paid modeling engagements they secure during the fellowship period.
