Role Overview

The company is seeking a Junior Planning Engineer skilled in Primavera P6. The role involves creating and maintaining project schedules alongside engineers, weekly updating schedules with real-time site progress, and generating S-curves and progress reports vital for project execution and invoicing. Training within the planning system and support from senior engineers will be provided, making prior extensive experience unnecessary as long as Primavera P6 proficiency and discipline are demonstrated.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project schedules in Primavera P6, including WBS, activity logic, calendars, and baselines, based on inputs from engineers.
• Conduct weekly progress updates across ongoing projects by gathering site progress data from engineers.
• Generate S-curves, manpower histograms, and progress metrics to support client reporting and invoicing.
• Resource-load schedules and distribute bi-weekly look-ahead plans to site teams.
• Identify and communicate any schedule deviations against baselines early, with detailed variance explanations.
• Assist the estimation team with tender-phase scheduling.
• Maintain planning templates and manage the schedule library.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or engineering diploma, preferably mechanical, industrial, or civil.
• Practical experience with Primavera P6, including training certification and 1–3 years of usage.
• Strong comprehension of WBS, activity logic, baselines, and percent-complete techniques.
• Proficient in Excel and capable of producing reports in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to oil & gas, EPC, or construction sectors, especially in shutdown/turnaround environments.
• Knowledge of MS Project, earned value management basics, and Power BI.

Work Environment and Additional Information

This position is office-based in Mussafah, with a fixed weekly schedule update routine. Occasional site visits are required to verify progress. Workload may increase during shutdown seasons. This role is not remote.
