Job description
Role overview
This position is for a Junior Officer in the Production department, based in the granulation, compression, or coating section. The role supports day-to-day manufacturing activities while ensuring compliance with regulatory, quality, safety, and documentation standards.
Key responsibilities
- Follow cGMP, GxP, EH&S, and other applicable regulatory requirements at all times.
- Complete the required SOP training and gain clarity on the task before beginning any activity.
- Carry out production work strictly according to the approved SOPs and escalate any difficulty or deviation to the immediate supervisor or manager.
- Share quality concerns and suggestions for improvement with supervisors or managers.
- Manufacture or process assigned batches under supervision in line with BMR instructions.
- Handle and move raw materials, bulk material, semi-finished goods, and finished goods as required.
- Operate, wash, and clean equipment and related accessories used in production, following the relevant SOPs.
- Maintain the production area and machines in GMP-compliant condition.
- Support the Quality Management System and report any discrepancy, abnormality, non-conformance, or incident to the Department Head and QA Head.
- Receive RM and PM from the Warehouse and ensure overall cleanliness of the work area.
- Perform operations as defined in SOPs and BMR, with online recording in the relevant documents wherever applicable.
- Maintain personal hygiene before entering the production area and comply with all other HR rules and regulations.
- Carry out in-process checks as per the applicable BMR and record the results in the required documents.
- Attend training programs needed for cGMP, job competence, safety, health, and hygiene.
- Work in a cost-conscious manner by controlling overtime, limiting revenue expenses, and meeting standard yield targets.
- Monitor environmental conditions carefully to ensure they remain within the standards specified in the BMR and SOP.
- Ensure calibration and preventive maintenance of manufacturing equipment and instruments are completed on schedule and meet the required standards.
- Perform line clearance during batch-to-batch and product-to-product changeovers and ensure SOP compliance.
- Manage issuance, retrieval, and destruction of dies and punches, product-specific bags and sieves, silicon sleeves, pipes, hose pipes, and screens.
- Support audit readiness and compliance.
- Troubleshoot machine and process issues whenever needed.
- Take on any other assignment given by the Production Head.
- Attend the required cGMP, on-the-job, and functional training sessions as per the training plan.
Experience
The position calls for 2 to 6 years of experience in roles involving equipment operation, process supervision, maintenance support, and quality checks in production.
Education
A Pharm D degree is required.
