Junior Merchandiser

Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior Merchandiser to support execution and operational activities within the merchandising team at Ajanta Silk, Surat. The role focuses on ensuring smooth development, approval, and delivery of samples along with maintaining accurate documentation and production tracking.

Core Responsibilities

• Monitor daily progress on sample development, ensuring timely approvals and dispatch to buyers.
• Organize and maintain detailed technical specifications such as Tech Packs and Bill of Materials, along with internal order documentation.
• Continuously update production status, manage ERP entries, and keep time-and-action calendars current.
• Liaise with suppliers to coordinate lab dip submissions, fabric samples, and trims approval processes.
• Conduct factory visits to assess production progress and communicate any delays or issues to senior management.

Though this position focuses on junior-level execution and support, senior merchandising responsibilities include strategic buyer management, precise costing and pricing negotiations, capacity planning for factory orders, handling production challenges, and vendor relations. Senior team members also mentor juniors to achieve departmental KPIs.
