Job Overview

The Junior Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental (HSQE) Advisor will support the promotion of a strong health and safety ethos across various Civil and Utilities projects in the South East region, primarily based in Kilkenny with travel to Wexford and Waterford.

This position involves implementing and supervising adherence to company HSQE policies and statutory health and safety laws. Responsibilities include performing regular site inspections, audits, risk assessments, and delivering training sessions such as toolbox talks for both staff and subcontractors.

The candidate will maintain comprehensive HSQE documentation via the company's electronic environmental health and safety system and offer guidance to site personnel and leadership on best practices and potential enhancements.

This significant role is integral to the HSQE team, providing considerable responsibility and opportunities for career growth.

Candidate Requirements

  • Between one and two years' relevant experience in an HSQE capacity.
  • Possess a degree or an equivalent credential in Health and Safety or a closely related discipline.
  • Prior experience within the construction industry is mandatory; experience in utilities is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with HSQE legislation, ISO standards, and industry best practice is required.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Must hold a current and valid Irish driving license.
