Role Overview
As a Junior Content Strategist - Sport reporting to the Senior Content Strategist - Sport, you will support content ideation, production, and distribution within the Sports Direct brand. You will contribute to content across key categories such as running, football, and training by aligning with brand voice and strategy. This entry-level role is ideal for developing sports content creation, storytelling, and digital publishing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and executing the ongoing content calendar from concept to publication.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual tone throughout all content.
- Create and curate editorial pieces for the Sports Direct blog, informed by insights, commercial goals, SEO, and GEO best practices.
- Conduct interviews with athletes, specialists, and talents.
- Adapt and tailor content appropriately for channels like CRM, paid media, retail, social platforms, and websites.
- Support copy editing and proofreading efforts to ensure quality and alignment with brand partners.
- Contribute creative ideas and copywriting for campaigns supporting broader brand strategies.
- Help manage editorial calendars and ensure timely delivery of content.
- Edit and coordinate work from internal and external writers.
- Collaborate with Content Managers and cross-functional teams to boost content reach across the brand ecosystem.

- Familiarity or openness to learning AI tools to aid content creation.
- Desirable but not mandatory: Experience with content management systems or digital publishing tools and prior sport-related experience.
