Job description

Role overview

This position focuses on engaging local resident jobseekers and supporting the onboarding of community employers under the Jobs Nearby @ CDC programme. The goal is to connect residents to nearby employment opportunities through local workforce development and job-matching efforts.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and maintain engagement with resident jobseekers while supporting the onboarding of community employers for the Jobs Nearby @ CDC scheme across CDCs and CCs.
  • Offer tailored support to jobseekers by understanding their concerns, showing empathy, and guiding them through each stage of their job search.
  • Work with employers such as SMEs, neighbourhood businesses, community employers, and vendors to help create jobseeker profiles, manage job postings, and use the job portal effectively.
  • Assist jobseekers with creating digital profiles, uploading supporting documents, and using online job platforms to submit applications.
  • Bring jobseekers and employers together through in-person and virtual touchpoints, including opportunities for on-the-spot interviews.
  • Follow up on jobseeker progress and placement results, review service delivery at different stages such as after interviews and after placement, and identify ways to improve the experience for both sides.
  • Grow and strengthen employer relationships to widen the network of participating employers.
  • Support and take part in outreach events, job fairs, learning festivals, and related community activities that connect jobseekers with employers.
  • Maintain records and report on jobseeker registrations, employer sign-ups, and success stories for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
  • Support the onboarding of new Job Ambassadors by sharing operational guidance and day-to-day process knowledge.
  • Handle other duties as assigned when they fall outside the main scope of work.

Knowledge and skills

  • Experience or familiarity with outreach, career guidance, skills advisory, community engagement, recruitment, HR, or workforce development.
  • Working knowledge of a second language such as Mandarin, Malay, Tamil, or local dialects to communicate with residents from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with the confidence to respond to employer and jobseeker queries and a basic understanding of labour market trends and workforce-related policies.
  • Ability to work on your own across multiple community locations and travel frequently within the district.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays when needed.
  • Comfort working outdoors and carrying out community outreach activities.
  • Self-driven, persuasive, and resourceful in approach.

Additional information

This is an active community-facing role that may require flexible scheduling, frequent movement between locations, and participation in field-based engagement activities.
