About UKCBC and the Role

We are recruiting an experienced Director of Education to provide academic leadership across our higher education programs. Reporting to the Chief Academic Officer, this role is based at our Liverpool Street, London location. The successful candidate will steer the operational delivery of the College’s academic strategy across Schools and programs, ensuring high standards in teaching, learning, academic quality, and student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of the College’s Teaching and Learning Strategy to enhance education delivery.
- Elevate academic performance and student engagement, focusing on student retention, program completion, and further progression.
- Drive ongoing enhancements in teaching quality, academic standards, and student success metrics.
- Provide institutional leadership to assure academic quality, compliance with Office for Students (OfS) Condition B, and governance standards.
- Manage strategic partnerships with universities and awarding bodies to maintain strong collaborative relationships.
- Integrate academic teams and professional services to create a cohesive and supportive experience for students.
- Chair the Quality of Education Committee, overseeing academic performance, quality assurance, standards, and risk management.
- Develop and strengthen the abilities, consistency, and accountability of academic leaders and teaching staff.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a postgraduate degree or equivalent professional experience, along with a recognised higher education teaching qualification.
- Demonstrate substantial leadership experience within higher education academic settings.
- Experienced in leading academic teams, programs, or portfolios.
- Have a strong understanding of quality assurance processes, academic governance, and compliance with regulatory frameworks.
- Proven history of utilizing performance data to enhance student outcomes effectively.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Capability to translate strategic academic goals into operational realities.
- Experience in partnership or franchised higher education settings and Fellowship or Senior Fellowship of Advance HE is a plus.
