Job description
Company Overview
Dexterra Group has been supporting Canadian clients for more than 75 years. Built from companies that started independently and later came together, the organization has a strong track record of backing essential infrastructure and built assets that keep communities running. With experienced teams and regional know-how, the company helps clients improve performance and productivity so their operations run smoothly and reliably.
Role Summary
Dexterra is hiring a dependable, detail-oriented cleaner for the Westin Ottawa. This position works overnight from 10:30 PM to 4:30 AM and focuses on keeping key guest and public areas clean, polished, and presentable.
Key Duties
- Wipe or dust check-in counters and keep them tidy.
- Empty and clean waste bins at the check-in counters.
- Spot-clean walls, partitions, switches, doors, and window sills.
- Clean and shine chrome and other polished metal finishes.
- Clean partition glass that can be reached safely by hand.
- Dust baseboards and low air vents.
- Use a damp mop on small hard-surface floor areas.
- Carry out vacuuming when requested.
- Clean the areas under and around toilets and urinals.
What the Employer Offers
- An opportunity to work in a sector that remains essential.
- Room for growth and future career advancement.
- A stable environment in a company that is expanding rather than reducing its workforce.
- The chance to join a well-established industry leader from day one.
Desired Background
The ideal candidate should be comfortable with general cleaning tasks and have a strong work ethic. Experience with floor care is helpful but not required. The role also benefits from familiarity with floor stripping and waxing, though that is considered an advantage rather than a must-have.
Additional Requirements and Information
The job requires the ability to use cleaning equipment and machinery, communicate clearly with supervisors, clients, and members of the public, and lift up to 25 lbs. WHMIS certification is required, although training can be provided. A clear criminal record check is mandatory. Dexterra Group is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all qualified individuals. Accommodation for disability-related needs is available during the hiring process upon request.
