We are currently hiring full-time Janitors to support our cleaning operations primarily at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, with additional openings across the school district.
Job Summary
The Janitor position requires maintaining buildings in a clean, orderly condition by performing thorough and heavy cleaning tasks such as floor care, washing surfaces, and trash disposal. This ensures a pristine environment conducive to education and safety for students, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Collect and dispose of trash using approved infection control and disposal procedures.
- Perform dusting and damp mopping on floors following proper protocols.
- Relocate furniture and equipment to effectively clean designated areas, then return them to original placement.
- Utilize assigned cleaning supplies and equipment to sanitize all surfaces, adhering to an eight-step cleaning routine.
- Wash walls, windows, baseboards, furniture, and other fixtures to maintain cleanliness and safety.
- Proactively identify and clean areas requiring attention without prompting.
- Complete all assignments delegated by supervisors diligently.
- Ensure all tasks comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Strip, scrub, buff, refinish floors, and shampoo carpets as necessary.
- Demonstrate professionalism and contribute positively to the team environment when interacting with customers and coworkers.
- Perform any other duties as assigned to support the clean facility operations.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of custodial or janitorial experience is mandatory.
Schedule and Location
The standard work schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Positions are primarily located at Winthrop University (701 Oakland Avenue, Rock Hill, SC 29730), with additional opportunities available in other locations throughout the school district.
Compensation and Benefits
The hourly fixed pay rate for this role is $15.00.
