Overview

Cheshire Ireland is looking for a seasoned IT Manager or Senior IT Specialist with expertise in service desk operations and cybersecurity to join their team based in Ballymount, Dublin 24. This permanent, full-time role includes responsibility for IT support at levels 1 and 2 and the overarching cybersecurity framework aligned with organizational goals, supporting critical daily IT functions and business continuity.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-user support and infrastructure security, managing high-volume level 1 and 2 service desk operations for swift resolution and user satisfaction.
  • Implement and administer comprehensive cybersecurity measures to safeguard company assets.
  • Translate technical information to stakeholders without technical backgrounds effectively.
  • Ensure IT operations align with business continuity plans and the organization’s key objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of four years in a related IT management or specialist role.
  • Hands-on experience with service desk management and endpoint control through Microsoft Intune Endpoint Manager and Windows Autopilot.
  • Proficiency with security tools including Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Identity Security, Security Awareness Training, Multi-Factor Authentication via Duo and Microsoft Authenticator.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as Active Directory (On-Prem and Azure AD/Entra ID), Microsoft 365 Suite, Exchange Online, Group Policy, and basic networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, firewall fundamentals).
  • Experience with multiple operating systems including Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, iOS, and Android.
  • Understanding of IT Service Management and ITIL Foundation principles relevant to Level 1 and 2 workflows.
  • Cybersecurity credentials like CompTIA Security+ or CISSP are essential.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate or Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for influencing and liaising across all organizational levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities to foster both internal and external professional relationships.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the Republic of Ireland with fluency in English.
  • Possession of a clean driving license with willingness to travel nationally, including outside standard hours; access to a car is mandatory.

Desirable Experience and Knowledge

  • Proven track record of optimizing service desk workflows, improving ticket resolution times.
  • Leading security initiatives, such as implementing Zero Trust models and deploying Endpoint Detection and Response tools.
  • Experience in ransomware prevention through enhanced backup strategy implementation.
  • Regular review and updating of IT policies, including Incident Response Plans and Acceptable Use Policies, ensuring compliance with legal and operational standards.
  • Understanding and application of emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence to enhance IT service effectiveness.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST or ISO 27001.

Additional Information

This role is Grade 7 with a salary range of €58,152 to €76,255 including two long service increments. The contract offers a hybrid working model with a 37-hour workweek and requires travel across Ireland. Candidates will undergo Garda National Vetting and must provide all necessary documentation for employment eligibility.
