Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Business Intelligence Architect to join our team in Dublin, Ireland. The successful candidate will have extensive expertise in BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, and Sigma, and will be proficient in platform administration, governance, data modeling, dashboard creation, and optimization.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrable experience managing Power BI Service, Tableau Cloud/Server, and Sigma environments.
  • Proficiency in overseeing user workspaces, managing permissions, security roles, scheduling data refreshes, and ensuring data connectivity.
  • Experience in supporting the migration and modernization of BI platforms.
  • Advanced skills in Power BI development and administration, including DAX scripting, Power Query (M language), dataflows, semantic models, and deployment pipelines.
  • Implementation and management of Git-based version control and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) within BI projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of Tableau administration, including site and project management, permissions, extracts, scheduling, data source integration, and dashboard development.
  • Strong understanding of BI security concepts and governance such as Row-Level and Object-Level Security, auditing, data governance, and identity and access management.
  • Familiarity with Power Platform integrations and governance best practices.
  • Experience using automation scripts and tools like PowerShell, Python, or REST APIs for platform administration.
  • Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent skills in stakeholder communication, management, and documentation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain BI platforms ensuring their reliability, optimal performance, and high adoption rates.
  • Manage user access rights, permissions, enforce governance policies, and uphold platform standards.
  • Oversee BI content migration, deployment, and release workflows.
  • Develop and sustain semantic models, datasets, dataflows, reports, and visual dashboards.
  • Monitor platform usage metrics, performance indicators, and overall health status.
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, business analysts, and IT teams to fulfill analytics and reporting needs.
  • Establish and uphold best practices related to BI development, security, and governance.
  • Offer architectural guidance and support ongoing BI platform enhancements and optimization efforts.
  • Support integration of diverse data sources with BI platforms and analytics tools.
