IT Director

About the Role

The IT Director position is a senior executive role responsible for steering the overall Information Technology operations and strategy within the organization. This role includes overseeing the IT infrastructure, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, and governance frameworks while ensuring alignment with the organization's business goals. Collaborating closely with senior executives, department leads, and external partners, the director will drive digital transformation initiatives, enhance operational effectiveness, and support sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement IT strategies that support business goals and digital transformation projects.
• Manage IT operations including infrastructure, cloud platforms, enterprise systems, networking, cybersecurity, and service delivery.
• Direct the deployment, maintenance, and enhancement of technology systems across the enterprise.
• Develop and enforce IT governance policies, technology standards, and operational best practices.
• Oversee budgeting for IT, handle technology investments, manage vendor relationships, licensing, and procurement activities.
• Guarantee the security, reliability, scalability, and performance of IT systems and infrastructure.
• Lead initiatives related to cybersecurity, disaster recovery, business continuity, and risk management.
• Partner with business leaders to identify and implement technology solutions that improve efficiency and business performance.
• Supervise IT projects including system implementations, infrastructure upgrades, and technology modernization initiatives.
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that add business value.
• Prepare detailed executive reports, IT performance indicators, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership and board members.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing IT teams, fostering a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Requirements and Qualifications

• In-depth understanding of IT management principles, enterprise infrastructure, cloud computing, network security, and IT governance models.
• Extensive leadership experience managing IT operations and technology teams at senior levels.
• Strong skills in executive leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement.
• Proven experience with enterprise systems, cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), data centers, and IT service management.
• Comprehensive knowledge of ITIL frameworks, information security standards, disaster recovery, compliance, and risk management.
• Financial acumen with experience managing IT budgets and vendor agreements.
• Excellent strategic planning, analytical reasoning, and decision-making capabilities.
• Proven ability to lead organizational change and deliver tech solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Demonstrates high professionalism, integrity, accountability, and adaptability.
• Educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field; advanced degrees such as Master's or MBA are preferred.
• Professional certifications like ITIL, CISSP, PMP, TOGAF, Microsoft, or AWS certifications are highly valued.
