Role Summary

The Investment Strategist - Fixed Income (Europe) represents Loomis Sayles and its fixed income capabilities along with selected equity strategies to expand and support the European client base. This role closely collaborates with the Investment Strategies & Solutions Director – Europe and the Product Management Group's Investment Directors.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an investment subject matter expert and ambassador for Loomis Sayles Fixed Income and selected Equity strategies with European clients and prospects.
  • Map and grow the existing European client network for Loomis Sayles and Natixis Business Development Units (BDUs).
  • Organize and execute coordinated, efficient, and impactful roadshows throughout Europe in partnership with Natixis BDUs.
  • Improve client relationship management by working with product marketing to support education and presentations on strategies.
  • Serve as first contact for Natixis in qualifying new business opportunities, driving sales processes, and responding to analysis requests.
  • Develop thorough knowledge of the investment teams’ strategies including alpha thesis, philosophy, processes, and performance metrics.
  • Deliver compelling presentations of the Fixed Income platform and selected Equity strategies to clients and prospects.
  • Champion European market insights and contribute investment content ideas for marketing and client communications.
  • Collaborate with product marketing on product positioning and business plans for investment platforms and strategies.
  • Identify and promote new product ideas driven by local market demands or custom solutions.
  • Represent the firm at industry conferences and speaking events as appropriate.
  • Support creation of whitepapers and thought leadership materials when beneficial.
  • Partner with Investment Directors and RFP teams to maintain and customize RFP response documentation.
  • Collaborate with technology and operations to implement tools enhancing client and prospect management efficiency.
  • Share best practices across the product management team and work with other functions to improve product processes.

Qualifications & Education

  • More than 10 years of relevant experience in investment management.
  • Demonstrated sales and relationship management proficiency.
  • Expertise in fixed income investment strategies.
  • CFA designation preferred.
  • Fluent in English plus one of German, French, Spanish, or Italian.
  • Experience addressing sophisticated institutional investors such as corporate and public plans, family offices, endowments, foundations, and consultants.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to craft positioning and influence decision-makers.
  • Self-driven with a collaborative mindset and strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Interest and ability to grasp team investment philosophies, processes, alpha sources, and performance analytics.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work professionally across peers and organizational functions.
  • Hands-on approach and willingness to engage in detailed tasks.
  • Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple complex assignments and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel internationally (primarily Europe) 20% to 40% of the time.

Additional Information

  • The position employs a hybrid work model: three days in the office, two days remote.
  • Salary range is 145000 to 245000 Euros annually, based on experience, qualifications, skills, and local market standards.
