About the Role
Our client, a distinguished UK investment banking boutique specializing in Financial Institutions Group (FIG) mergers and acquisitions within the asset and wealth management sectors, is expanding their London team. The firm boasts a strong reputation, with partners hailing from prominent US Bulge Bracket banks, elite boutiques, and global independents.
Role Overview
The position is targeted at Analyst 2 level professionals with a minimum of 12 months experience in M&A transactions, though specific sector experience in FIG is not mandatory. The role entails playing a vital part in executing and managing complex M&A deals, delivering impactful financial analyses, and cultivating enduring client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage actively in M&A transactions related to asset and wealth management, conducting thorough financial analyses, due diligence, valuation, and deal structuring.
- Produce insightful financial evaluations to guide transaction planning and strategic decisions.
- Perform comprehensive industry and market research to uncover acquisition prospects and strategic opportunities for clients.
- Keep abreast of market dynamics, regulatory updates, and trends affecting asset and wealth management sectors.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including legal, compliance, and tax to ensure smooth transaction processes.
- Coordinate among internal teams and external stakeholders to align on deal objectives and timelines.
- Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients, industry authorities, and key partners to support business growth.
- Serve as a trusted advisor offering strategic counsel throughout the M&A lifecycle.
- Prepare and present detailed reports, presentations, and documentation for diverse audiences both internally and externally.
- Effectively communicate complex financial concepts clearly and persuasively to varied stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related discipline is essential.
- Prior experience in executing M&A transactions, with FIG or asset and wealth management sector experience considered a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong expertise in financial analysis and modeling, including advanced Excel skills and valuation methodologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation capabilities, able to clarify complex finance topics to varied audiences.
- A proven ability to thrive in high-pressure, deadline-oriented environments while working collaboratively within a team.
- Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
