About the Role

Macdonald & Company is exclusively engaged by an entrepreneurial real estate investment and development firm based in Austin, Texas, with a notable history of acquiring, developing, and managing diverse real estate assets. This role serves as an exceptional chance for an ambitious Analyst to rapidly advance their career within a nimble and entrepreneurial environment, working directly alongside the firm's Managing Principal and gaining comprehensive exposure to the full investment lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed financial models to evaluate acquisition and development opportunities.
  • Prepare investment memoranda, presentations, and supporting documentation for capital partners.
  • Manage and execute due diligence processes related to acquisitions and development projects.
  • Conduct market research, demographic studies, and competitive analyses to inform investment decisions.
  • Contribute to pre-development feasibility studies, budgeting, and project underwriting efforts.
  • Support asset management activities including monitoring operational metrics, leasing status, capital improvement projects, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic initiatives across investment, development, and portfolio management disciplines.
  • Identify improvements for workflows utilizing technology and AI-based solutions.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, or a similar field.
  • Between 1 to 3 years of professional experience in real estate investment, development, banking, lending, private equity, consulting, or related analytical roles.
  • Proficient in financial modeling with advanced skills in Excel.
  • Strong analytical thinking complemented by effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly organized with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
  • A curious, self-motivated learner who is eager to absorb knowledge from experienced real estate professionals.
