Role Summary
The firm is seeking highly motivated Graduate to APC-Level Building Surveyors to join their expanding North Dublin team. This position offers hands-on exposure to diverse projects spanning both residential and commercial sectors. You will collaborate closely with Directors and Senior Chartered Surveyors, receiving structured mentorship and comprehensive support during your journey through the SCSI/RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform residential Pre-Purchase House Surveys and Homebuyer Surveys.
- Conduct detailed Snag Inspections and prepare Snag List Reports for new residential developments.
- Assist with Commercial Building Surveys, including Schedule of Conditions and Dilapidations assessments.
- Undertake measured building surveys using advanced electronic surveying and scanning technologies to create accurate real-time floor plans.
- Support design, specification, and contract administration for refurbishment, repair, and maintenance initiatives.
- Contribute to Planning Applications and monitor building control compliance.
- Prepare Insurance Rebuilding and Reinstatement Cost Assessments adhering to BCIS/SCSI guidelines.
- Carry out Land Registry and boundary mapping surveys.
- Draft detailed, technically accurate professional reports for private clients, corporations, financial bodies, and legal representatives.
- Manage client communications professionally, respond to inquiries promptly, and maintain internal project tracking systems.
Qualifications & Experience
- BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying, preferably from an SCSI/RICS accredited institution.
- Open to recent graduates or candidates with 1–3 years of postgraduate experience actively pursuing their APC diary.
- Proficient with IT systems, including AutoCAD and contemporary digital surveying applications.
- Solid understanding of construction technology, building pathology, and Irish Building Regulations.
- Possession of a full, clean Irish/EU driving licence and access to a vehicle for site visits within Dublin and neighboring counties.
Essential Competencies
- A committed attitude towards achieving chartered status through the APC process.
- Keen attention to detail with strong analytical skills to identify building defects, workmanship issues, and structural concerns.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities necessary for producing comprehensive technical reports and maintaining transparent client interactions.
