Job description
Role overview
CF Corporation’s specialist recruitment team focuses on roles in investment and financial services. They are working with a major U.S. investment bank that is expanding its European investment banking platform and is looking to bring five analysts into its London office.
The successful hires may be placed into a sector coverage team such as Financial Institutions Group (FIG), Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT), or Energy, with possible exposure to other sectors including Industrials, Healthcare, and Consumer.
This position supports a wide range of advisory and financing work, including mergers and acquisitions, equity and equity-linked transactions, debt fundraising, joint ventures, restructurings, and strategic investment assignments.
What the role involves
As an Investment Banking Analyst, you will work closely with senior bankers on major client transactions. Your role will include helping assess strategic alternatives, shaping transaction structures, and providing analysis that supports important corporate decisions.
The work is highly execution-focused and fast paced. You will build financial models, review company and market data, prepare polished presentations and documentation, and help drive deals through to completion. You will also support due diligence work and contribute to ensuring all activities align with regulatory and compliance requirements.
This opportunity suits someone with strong numerical thinking, commercial awareness, and a proactive approach. Success will depend on handling several priorities at once, staying accurate under pressure, and communicating clearly while working collaboratively.
Key responsibilities
- Help deliver investment banking mandates across M&A, capital raising, and strategic advisory work.
- Build and update financial models and analytical tools to evaluate opportunities and support recommendations.
- Prepare client-facing materials such as presentations, information memoranda, and transaction documents.
- Carry out detailed research on companies, sectors, and market developments to support origination and execution.
- Work with senior team members to coordinate transaction timelines, monitor progress, and keep milestones on track.
- Assist with due diligence by reviewing data, flagging key issues, and coordinating with internal stakeholders and outside advisors.
- Support business development by producing targeted research and tailored marketing materials.
- Assess risks in transactions and help ensure adherence to internal policies, compliance requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy, organisation, and discretion when managing sensitive information.
- Collaborate across banking, markets, legal, risk, and compliance teams to help achieve successful transaction outcomes.
Candidate profile
The role calls for someone who can quickly absorb complex financial and commercial information, turn it into clear analysis, and apply structured thinking to business and transaction problems. You should be comfortable working in a demanding environment where deadlines can move quickly and expectations are high.
Minimum qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a similar field is preferred, though applications are also welcome from candidates with other degrees, particularly those with strong numerical skills.
- Excellent written and spoken communication, with the ability to create clear materials for clients.
- Strong attention to detail and solid organisational skills.
- Ability to stay effective under pressure and balance multiple tasks at once.
- Good judgement and awareness of risk, compliance, and regulatory expectations.
- Applicants from any degree subject may be considered, and grade level will not affect whether you are invited to apply or interview.
Application process
The application window remains open until the applicant cap is reached, so early submission is encouraged. Hiring is being conducted across the client’s major global markets.
Applicants are expected to submit a LinkedIn profile and CV. A cover letter is not required. Individual feedback cannot be provided due to the volume of applications.
Compensation and benefits
- Annual base pay of £75,000, with the potential to rise to £90,000 depending on experience.
- On-target bonus of 50% of base salary, with top performers eligible for bonuses up to 125%.
- Relocation support is offered by the company.
