About the Role

Outcome Capital, an investment banking and strategic advisory firm based in Boston specializing in life sciences, is seeking a highly capable Analyst to join its expanding team. This role is ideal for individuals who are strategic, collaborative, intellectually curious, and passionate about advancing scientific progress through mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, partnerships, and other corporate deals.

Candidate Profile

  • Between one to three years of post-graduate professional experience in corporate/business development, consulting, equity research, or venture capital
  • Applicants without professional experience but seeking entry into financial services are also encouraged to apply
  • PhD holders in biological sciences or related fields aiming to work at the confluence of life sciences and finance and use scientific insights to manage strategic and financial deals
  • Determined, high integrity, humble individuals looking for a challenging, impactful, and financially rewarding career foundation
  • Team players with a growth mindset capable of independently managing work streams

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in groups of three to five bankers to create deliverables for M&A and capital raising transactions including management presentations, executive summaries, financial models, data room oversight, and due diligence processes
  • Analyze market conditions and value alignment in marketing materials to inform transaction strategies
  • Present ideas directly to client leadership and financial stakeholders
  • Drive independent tasks within the context of overall team efforts, ensuring deadline compliance
  • Lead fundamental investment analysis and research to support client documentation
  • Quickly absorb new data from various sectors such as therapeutics, medical devices, diagnostics, and healthcare markets to guide transaction decisions
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to analysts and interns, aiding in recruitment, development, and training efforts

Required Skills and Experience

  • A recent PhD (within one to three years) in biological sciences
  • One to three years’ experience in biotechnology/life sciences industry or relevant roles like business development, strategy, equity research, or consulting
  • Understanding of current trends and value drivers within the life sciences sector
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and excel in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment, consistently delivering high-quality work
  • Strong intellectual curiosity, integrity, and commitment to exceptional client service
  • A growth-oriented mindset
