Investment Back Office Lead - Life Insurance Sector - Gurgaon

About the Role and Employer

We are engaged in hiring a seasoned professional to spearhead investment back-office functions within a prominent life insurance and financial services company based in Gurgaon. This organization is recognized for a strong market presence, a diversified investment portfolio, and a commitment to operational excellence, governance, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the complete lifecycle of investment transaction settlements across various asset categories, ensuring timely execution aligned with market deadlines, regulatory demands, and counterparty service expectations.
• Supervise accounting activities related to investment transactions within the Investment Management System (IMS), guaranteeing precision, completeness, and conformity with accounting principles and internal guidelines.
• Develop and uphold comprehensive reconciliation procedures to maintain financial accuracy and enhance operational efficiencies.
• Conduct review, authorization, and dissemination of Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations while preserving strict governance controls and ensuring accurate reporting.
• Coordinate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end investment closing processes collaboratively with finance teams and other stakeholders.
• Manage Forward Rate Agreement (FRA) transactions and hedge accounting tasks, which include valuation, testing effectiveness, maintaining documentation, and applying correct accounting treatments.

Professional Requirements

• Possess 10 to 14 years of relevant experience in subjects such as investment operations, investment back office, treasury operations, or similar roles within financial services.
• Demonstrate deep knowledge of investment accounting, post-trade operations, and financial reporting standards.
• Understand life insurance investment regulations and compliance imperatives.
• Experience administering investment management systems, as well as handling reconciliations and operational controls effectively.
• Strong knowledge of treasury functions, cash flow management, and a range of investment instruments.
